A Boy and A Rabbit

A Boy and A Rabbit

Cotton
Just another ordinary morning... Previously, we did a post on A Girl and A Rabbit, to show the relationship between Cotton and me. I thought it would only be fair if I also do a post on Cotton and my boyfriend. So this time, Cotton's Daddy makes a very rare appearance. He enjoys maintaining a low profile, and preferred not to show up on my blog that often, but I thought these photos are too great not to be shared. It was indeed just a very ordinary morning. Cotton happened to jump onto his bed, sniffing around. I would describe my boyfriend as a bit of a laddy lad,  sticking to his techno gadgets and pumping iron in the gym. I never thought he would be a rabbit person, simply because he…

Pho Tour 2nd Stop: Mama Pho

Pho Tour 2nd Stop: Mama Pho

Eat
Continuing on with our Pho Tour, this is our second stop. Mama Pho is just 5 minutes away from Cafe East. I reckon Cafe East is already very good, so surely it must be tough competition for another Vietnamese restaurant in vicinity? So we scouted out this place. Info Address: 24a Evelyn Street, London, SE8 5DG, UK Nearest station: Surrey Quays, Canada Water, Deptford Price: £15 per head (starter, Pho and tea) Pro: Good value for money, Pho comes in two different sizes, very attentive service, nice ambience Con: The inside is a bit small, so not suitable for parties. Website: http://cafemamapho.co.uk/ Mama Pho Mama Pho is a very popular Vietnamese cafe for the locals. Whenever we went, the place was packed. The  cafe has very trendy interiors decorated with wooden beams…

Wisdom from My Mother

Wisdom from My Mother

Live
My mum has always been a very strong person to me, my role model and inspiration. She is my parent, my mentor and my friend. Even with the worst things happening to me, she always lifts me up. Even when I lose faith in myself, she never loses faith in me. I talk to her nearly every day, and I am always amazed how much wisdom she has. This is what she said to me and I would like to share. "You are now on your own, we cannot do much for you anymore, apart from being morally supportive and to be someone you talk to. You have to do things by yourself..."   "Have faith in yourself, even when other people lose faith in you"   "You can lose anything,…

A Girl and A Rabbit

Cotton, Live
Six months of blogging Six months ago, I started this blog. Over this short period, I have gained things beyond monetary values. I have learned more about web development, digital marketing and content management. Then, there are things I would not have tried if I were not having this blog: I would not have gone to the Mozfest, which got me interested in learning more about technology, and I certainly would not have attended the London Pure trade show. Cotton is definitely the inspiration of this blog. Without her joining our life, I would not have started this blog at all. Yet, it would be unfair to say the website is solely about Cotton. On several occasions, people have asked me what this blog is about. Food? Rabbit? Life? I have…

Lowestoft: all those days by the beachside

Travel
Certain things can never be wiped away from memory, Behind the beautiful pictures, there are often stories... We might stop remembering, but we never truly forget… All those lovely mornings, walking along the beach, probably the purest moments of my life. Close my eyes, the sound of the seagulls still rings in my ears. Sometimes, it felt parts of me faded with the tide. Yet a tiny tiny part still remained. All those memories... Neptune Lowestoft The pier Sunrise Tanks on the beach Morning surfers Pebbles Seagulls The lonely fisherman With the ease of travel, many people nowadays opt for holidays abroad, instead going to the English seasides. We often forget how beautiful British seaside can be...

Susan Fowler and Uber The sexual harassment investigation of Uber has been a major headline. It all started after Susan Fowler, a former Uber reliability engineer posted on her blog, detailing her one year of experience working for Uber. Fowler stated that she was harassed by inappropriate chat messages from a senior manager. When she took the case to the Human Resources (HR), she was informed that it was the first offence of the manager, and suggested that Fowler may receive a negative review because she has voiced her opinion. Yet, later on, Fowler found out that many women who worked for Uber received the same treatment. Fowler’s post received numerous support world-wide. This post has been named as the second biggest news since Ellen Pao (although controversial) took on Silicon…

Oxbo Bankside: somewhere to chill tonight?

Oxbo Bankside: somewhere to chill tonight?

Eat, Fine Dining
Oxbo situates near Waterloo, a modern British restaurant as a part of Hilton. We chose this place for a send off dinner for my cousin, who is now pursuing a media career in China. This place is beautifully decorated with traditional British ornaments, but with a modern twist. This was my favourite, swordfish drenched in champaign and topped with some fresh salad, full of freshness. The food was quite light, but still full of flavour. They were the heart warming kind of dishes. We had a set menu, three courses and a glass of prosecco, for £25. It was quite a bargain. They have a wide range of wine collections. Just take your pick, you are bound to find your favourite. It was peaceful night, and the place was great for…
